The Ritz-Carlton Central Park is a five-star, 277-key hotel, including 11 luxury apartments overlooking Central Park. Originally built in 1929 and fronting directly onto the southern edge of Central Park, the Ritz-Carlton Central Park, then known as the St. Moritz Hotel, had long been one of New York’s best-known hotels. Handel Architects led the renovation and modernization of the building, stripping all existing systems exclusive of the steel structure while maintaining the exterior skin and detail.

Work also included replacing the existing terra-cotta details and re-building of the upper level exterior structure. Incremental additions to the south side enlarged the floor plate and enhanced condominium layouts. A new central atrium became the focus of the entry lobby. Other renovated amenities include a restaurant, spa, and meeting rooms.
