Greenpoint Landing

Located on 22 acres of waterfront on the East River, Greenpoint Landing will transform a formerly industrial area into a new multi-building development within an enclave of parks and tree-lined streets in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The project includes a mix of residences and retail, as well as a new public school. Of the approximate 5,500 residential units included in the development, about 1,400 are designed to be affordable.

The site is organized to provide new and existing residents of Greenpoint access to both the waterfront and the new greenspace that will line the shore. Four acres of publicly accessible open space, designed by landscape architect James Corner Field Operations, will include 40’ wide terraced promenades, a landscaped pier, and larger-scale amenity spaces such as a picnic area.

The street grid is extended into the site, allowing the public access to the waterfront and park areas. Buildings are sited to maintain view corridors for existing residents, and are organized to take advantage of the dramatic Manhattan views. Building materials will include a mix of brick and black metal, meant to evoke Greenpoint’s industrial past.
